Nalanda Retreat is located in a coastal village in North Goa which overlooks Mandrem Beach. This stretch of sand is a continuation of Ashwem beach situated close to Arambol beach.

Mandrem is known for its quiet shores. It offers you high-end accommodation in a secluded setting. There are many casuarina trees that fringe this beach, home to white-bellied fish eagles. The nearby market area, Madlamaz-Mandrem, is known for selling different types of food items and drinks

This beautiful beach stretch is also known as Turtle Beach after the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles that arrive on its shores during nesting season. Quiet and peaceful, Morjim with its lush green hills, clean beaches and the Chapora river running through it, is a popular destination with foreign travellers and expats.

Getting there

Mandrem is around 52 kms from Goa International Airport at Dabolim, from where you can take a taxi or we can pre-book a transfer for you. The nearest railway station is in Pernem, which is less than 27 kms away. There are frequent buses from the capital city of Panaji and the city of Mapusa to Mandrem.
