PRANAYAMA & MEDITATION
Pranayama in brief means the prolongation of the breath and its restraint. It is an art, offering techniques which make the respiratory organs move and expand intentionally, rhythmically and intensively. It consists of inhalation; which stimulates the system, exhalation; that throws toxins and retention which distributes the energy “prana” known as vitality throughout the body. Breath is the bridge between the body, senses and the mind. Such disciplined breathing helps the mind to concentrate and enables the aspirant to attain a robust health and longevity.
YOGA NIDRA
Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep. In this treatment the recipient is laying on his/her back for the whole session, without any physical movement, while staying awake and conscious for the whole time. We first use various techniques to relax the whole body deeply. From this point the unconscious mind is being gradually revealed and retrained in order to let go of certain unnecessary habits and advance our spiritual awareness. Part of this practice is to form an intention by the recipient (Sankalpa), which creates positive prints in the unconsciousness.
SHIRODHARA
Shiro meaning head and Dhara meaning flow. An Ayurveda therapy that involves continuously pouring warm, herbal oil over the forehead; also known as the Ajna Chakra. An area of highly concentrated nerves & containing the circulation of our vital life force, or prana. The flow of oil onto the forehead creates a vibration whilst the oil saturates the forehead and scalp, penetrating deep into the nervous system. The gentle pressure and soothing warmth of the oil will allow the body, mind and nervous system to experience a deep state of rest, only comparable with deep meditation. Balancing the mind, stabilizing emotions and healing the body.
